I started at BetMGM four years ago as an HR Generalist, but my passion and pride for our people led me to take on the role as our first Employee Experience Manager.
BetMGM is different when it comes to building an empowering and inclusive culture. We don’t just say this with words. We demonstrate it with our actions as a company. Community-building, culture, and inclusion are at the forefront of our employee experience.
What does this look like in action? It’s creating safe forums where employees feel comfortable asking leaders questions and even challenging ideas. It’s having policies in place to have zero tolerance for discrimination and providing diversity training to all employees. It’s creating mentorship and development opportunities to support employees in their careers. It’s intentionally providing opportunities for employees across the organization to form connections.
BetMGM is a case study in the power of authentic connections. We invest in fostering opportunities for employees to connect with one another. This can come in the form of sports leagues, happy hours, employee resource groups, or other company events. Face-to-face interactions allow team members to get to know each other on a personal level outside the day-to-day work grind.
One of my favorite moments at BetMGM was when we launched our first recreational sports league. The immediate turnout and comradery were nothing short of amazing. Seeing employees of all levels come together and connect in such a personal, positive way was powerful. The indirect impact of these positive experiences compound over time and are felt throughout the company. Our people build connections that make them want to grow with us.
